Sometime tomorrow (I don't know when) I will change the link to my blog to ejcteenlife.blogspot.com. I have no idea when but it will be changed tomorrow. So just to let you guys know not to keep typing tween instead of teen. Hope you guys had a great 2014 year!

Christmas Break Update

Belated Merry Christmas!

Yeah, soooo sorry I didn't blog for, like, about 2 weeks, I think? Anyways, my school took away our laptops for break so I didn't have access to a laptop for a while. Now I'm just using my mom's computer. So I'm at Lake Tahoe right now. We got here on last Saturday. We skied on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, which was Christmas. On Wednesday, my family and I watched Night at the Museum 3, which was sooooo funny. I totally recommend it. I also went swimming, even though it is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit here. I had a really fun break. So I'll try to blog as much as I can, but I don't know how much time I'll have on a computer. I get my laptop back sometime in January so expect more posts then.

Happy Holidays!

Spirit Week + A Christmas Carol

Hi guys!

So this week is spirit week. Sunshine Rainbow Girl already said it, but I'll say it again. Monday: Sports Day; Tuesday: Uniform; Wednesday: Pajama Day; Thrusday: Uniform; Friday: Red and green/Christmas. I didn't do anything for Monday cuz I'm not a big sports fan. Today and Thursday are uniform cuz there are 2 field trips. My class is in both of them. Today we went to watch a play/musical. It's A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. We've been reading it in English, so my English teacher got tickets for the play. It was really cool. In the story, there are some ghosts, so they were kinda freaky but cool. Like it scared me at first, then I was like, "Ok. I know they're there." But I jumped anyway when the next one came. It was awesome, real professional and stuff.

Happy Watching a Play/Musical!

Church Potluck

Hi guys!

So today I had to go to a church potluck. There was soooooo much good food. After eating a ton, the youth (I'm youth BTW) went to the main sanctuary, which was dark cuz no one was using it (we were in another room. No food in the main sanctuary). Anyways, we started playing Capture the Flag in the dark. We used glowstick necklaces. It was really fun. People kinda kept getting hurt cuz they were tripping over the chairs, but I tried not to run because I just got my brace off. My arm still kinda hurts now, but I'm sure it's fine. Some adults kept peeking in and going, "Oh, that's where you guys all went!" Apparently, the adults were also playing some games. I heard from my parents that it was a lot of fun too.

Happy Playing Capture the Flag!

It's Raining, It's Pouring...

Hey guys!

So right now, where I live, there's this huge, massive storm. It's been rainy and cloudy all day. The good part is that I don't have school today. Yay! I actually don't mind rainy days. Well, unless I have to go to school. But I mean I like staying in my pajamas all day and just watching TV or reading or something like that. Yes, I have been in my pajamas all day. It's so cozy. Anyways, this storm is a good thing cuz previously, we were in a drought. Well, it's also kind of a bad thing cuz places are getting flooded. But, I'm gonna think positive and be a unicorn!

Brace Off!

Hi guys!

So this title is a little vague unless you already know a lot about it. It means that I took my brace off! In case you forgot, my brace was the thing holding my arm in place. And I took it off! Which means that I'm almost, pretty much healed! It's still fragile, but I'm soooooo happy! It still feels kinda sore when I lift it and stuff, but the doctor says that that's just because of my arm being weak. Since I hadn't moved my arm for so long, I have to, like, try to move it more so that I'll gain my strength back. But I'm soooooo HAPPY!!!

Christmas Musical + Movie

Wassup guys!

So, as you know, the Christmas musical for my school was yestarday night and this afternoon. I have a pretty small part. I'm on a green screen and I come out for curtain call and I help backstage. But I'm fine with it. Anyway, the show went great. Some people missed a line or two, but they picked it back up. Anyways, today after the musical, I went to watch a movie with Stephanie. We watched Penguins of Madagascar. It was okay. I mean, I don't really like it as much as Mockingjay Part 1 (duh) but I guess it was okay. So I'm really tired now and I'm gonna go get ready for bed. Good night!

No Homework!

Hi guys!

Sorry I haven't been blogging recently. I was busy. Also, my life is so boring hardly anything exciting ever happens! But I decided to blog today. From the title, you might have thought that I don't have homework anymore, like Christmas break decided to come early. I wish. Unfortunately, this only lasts for tonight. Still, it makes me happy. So right now I'm going to go enjoy it. Bye!

Happy Finishing Homework!

New Kindle!

Wassup!

I'm so happy! I just got a new Kindle! Now I won't have to add books to the stack next to my desk! I'm not kidding. There are, like, 20 books stacked here. I really, really love reading, so yeah. I actually don't have any books on it yet, but I will soon. I'm gonna browse through Amazon. I also just ordered a purple Kindle case with a stylus. It won't get here until next week, but I'm fine with that.

Happy Thanksgiving 2014!

Happy Thanksgiving guys!

I love Thanksgiving. It's my 3rd favorite holiday, after Christmas and July 4th. I love all the food and all the family time and I'm really grateful that I can have all of it. Even though I have a broken arm, I'm glad that it doesn't hurt anymore (yay!) and that I don't need surgery. Anyways, I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday and don't forget to thank God for everything you have!

5 Random Things Tag

Hey readers!

So I guess Stephanie tagged me to do this... So let's get started.

1) My two favorite shows are Pretty Little Liars and Once Upon A Time. They're both on Netflix so if you have it, you can watch it. I like Once Upon A Time more though...

2) I'm very, very obessed with good grades. I absolutely have to get 90% or above.

3) I read faster than normal people. So English is one of my favorite subjects.

4) I've been to a lot of places, such as Taiwan, China, Australia, New York, and a lot more!

5) I like to take the lead when its a group school project or something. Sometimes I can get a bit bossy. I really try not to.

Big Hero 6

Hi guys!

I just came back from watching the new movie Big Hero 6. It's a cartoon, but in my opinion, you can never be too old for cartoons (or unicorns!). I watched it with one of my besties. It was funny and pretty good. We sat next to this annoying little girl and her laugh was like screeching. She also threw popcorn in the air and in the beginning of the movie she yelled, "It's the Hunger Games!" Me and my friend started laughing. Anyways, I don't want to spoil the movie for you guys, so I'm gonna stop before I do.

Sleepover Fun!

Wassup unicorns!

Sunshine Rainbow Girl and Stephanie already blogged about this, but I'm gonna do it again. So yestarday I went to a sleepover. Me, Diana D, Isabelle, Sunshine Rainbow Girl, and Stephanie went. The host is a girl that you guys don't know. SRG arrived first, then me and Diana D came at the same time, then Isabelle, then Stephanie. So Diana and I first went to the wrong house! Our hands were full, so we tried knocking with our feet (aka kicking the door). Some guy opened it and we were like, "Is ________ here?" The guy was like, "No, but if you have cake we'll take it." LOL right? We managed to find the right house. When everyone was there, we started eating the Bean Boozled Jelly Beans. Diana had to eat barf! Then we started prankcalling people. Our line: "Hello? In-&-Out? I want a double cheeseburger! With fries!" Of course we said more; it varied. But it was so funny. Then we did the Whisper Challenge and it got really loud cuz we were yelling. We also watched Dance Moms and Modern Family. We stayed up till 2 and woke up at around 7-ish. We basically got 5 hrs of sleep. For breakfast we had amazing waffles. Then we just played some more. The girl's mom kept wanting to take a selfie with us, so we kinda ran and hid. It was an AWESOME sleepover!

Field Trip

Hi guys!

Today, my middle school went to an Academy of Sciences. It was awesome. I usually don't like science, but science museums are fine cuz I actually get to see the stuff. There was an aquarium, an African exhibit, an earthquake simulator, a skulls exhibit, and some other stuff I didn't get to see cuz I didn't have time. But I still had fun. We also watched an Imax movie about the universe. It was cool. The only bad part was that there was a packet that we had to fill out. But I'm trying to be happy and a unicorn and not think about it. During the ride there and back, there was a lot of traffic. Our car was basically the last one arriving at the museum and school. Bacon Girl, Sunshine Rainbow Girl, another friend, and I were riding in the same car, and we played games in the car. It was hilarious.

BTW, remember Bacon Girl? She now has a new blog. Here's the link: http://lifeofdianad.blogspot.com/. She won't be posting on her old blog anymore. Be sure to check out this one!

Fall Festival!

Hi readers!

Yestarday was Halloween. I should've made a post saying Happy Halloween but I was exhausted. Here's why. So, my church was having a fall festival with carnival games and bounce house and all that. It started at 7, but I was helping out, so I had to get there by 6. I was helping someone with face painting. So I went there and started helping to set up and stuff. Then the carnival happened and it was a lot of fun. Then I had to stay to help clean up and didn't get home until 11. So I was too tired to blog.

I also missed my school's activity, which everyone else in my class went to. Please tell me all about it,  guys!

Hi guys!

I just got back from watching Disney on Ice! It was awesome! I saw Cars, Ariel the little mermaid, Tinkerbell, and Toy Story 3. I was kinda hoping to see Frozen, but I guess it was too new. Anyway I had a really good time. A lot of little kids were dressed up as Disney characters. I saw a lot of Annas and Elsas. They were all so adorable! I ate a lot of food too. My family and I ordered chicken strips and fries, nachos, a hot dog, a Sprite, and a lemonade to all share. That was kinda our dinner. Micky, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald were the hosts. I had a great time. You are never too old for Disney on Ice.

I don't know what my chances of winning are, but I'm gonna say not good because there are 3 other people running, 2 of them 8th graders. So, yeah. But, I'm still gonna run, and I'm gonna do my best! Wish me luck!

Fun Fact: There are 6 spots for Student Council at my school: President, Vice President, Secretary, Social Chairman, Treasurer, and Spiritual Life Representative.

Student Council

Hi guys!

So right now, my middle school is having student council. Should I join and try it out? One of my teachers says to. But I'm not sure. Help me! Vote on the poll!

Laptops!

Hey readers!

I'm soooo happy right now because our laptops finally came! I'm blogging this from my very own laptop! So now you can expect more posts. If I remember. 'Cause now we have a ton of homework. But whatever. I still love blogging! I'm running out of ideas for what to do for a poll (if you guys want one), so leave an idea in the comments below. Thanks!

Fun Fact: My class has to give back our laptops at the end of the year. (I know, I know. That's not really a fun fact. But I didn't have an I Wonder for today, so I'm just going to go with this.)

2nd Week of School Already

Hi guys!

I know I haven't blogged in awhile, but that was because I started school. I know, my school starts really late, blah blah blah. But also, I don't have my own laptop, and the school gives me one for the school year, and I'm still waiting for it. So right now, I'm using my mom's laptop. Anyway, nothing much has happened. Oh! I'm going to Bacon Girl's house for a sleepover this Friday. I'm super excited. Also, Chinese school started again. Whaaaa (crying like a baby here). I'm sooooo sad. Cuz it's the same amount of boooorrrrring.

I Wonder: When do I not have to go to Chinese school?! (Cuz it's obviously not soon enough!)

School Tomorrow! + New Desk!

Hi readers!

My school starts tomorrow! I don't know whether to be happy or sad. Probably a little of both. Anyways, I've double-checked all of my school supplies (although I'm pretty sure that if I forget something, I can bring it the next day because school is just starting). Oh, and I got a new desk! I'm really excited because I've never had a real desk before. I usually do homework on the couch downstairs. It's all white with a black chair that's not in the photo because when I took the picture, the chair wasn't put in yet. And there's a white cabinet next to it. It's really pretty and I already started personalizing it, but, again, the stuff wasn't there when I took the photo. So all you'll see is a white desk and cabinet. But tell me what you think in the comments section!

Fun Fact: I got the desk, chair, and cabinet at Ikea on Sunday.

This Coming Week

Hi guys!

So my school starts around next week. This week is my big preparations week. I got my school supplies, and starting to do some math and writing (including this blog). Sometime this week I have Back-to-School Night. It's a pretty small school, so I have a good idea of who my teachers are. Probably very similar to last year. Nothing much happened so far. Went swimming last Saturday, had sleepover on Sunday. That's about it.

I Wonder: Are the new kids gonna be nice? (I heard that there's one new student coming to my class this year.)

Summer So Far: Almost Over!

Hi guys!

I know it's been, like, forever since I blogged anything new! But I've been taking a very easy summer. Middle school was a lot harder so I kinda went crazy relaxing and watching TV this summer. Not my best year. But here I am again! So this month (August) I had three weeks of swimming class. Four days a week Mon-Thurs at 10-11:00 am. It's really tiring 'cause I have to get up at 9:00. And I'm in one of the higher levels, so it's pretty intense. Warm-up is eight laps everyday! Also, this month my church held a mother-daughter tea time at someone's house. There were only ten slots and I got to go! It's really fun. The girls make cookies while the moms talk in the living room. Then we all have tea. And cakes and sandwiches too, of course. Just last week, I had a summer party! I invited two girls over, one of them Bacon Girl. We ate tons of junk food and colored and blew bubbles. You are never too old to color or blow bubbles! My school starts in 2 weeks. I'm kinda excited since I can see all my friends again, but also not because of homework (duh!).

I Wonder: What will this year be like?

Summer So Far: In Taiwan

Hey guys!

Sorry again that I haven't blogged in a while. Right now, I'm in Taiwan. Leaving tomorrow, so I figured I would just tell you today. So I came to Taiwan about 3 weeks ago. It's burning over here! Spent a week with my mom's side of the family (they live in Taiwan, even cousins), and then spent some time with my dad's side of the family (grandparents live in Taiwan, cousins flew in from Iowa). My cousins names are Ellie (age 12), Henry (age 14) and Jack (age 16). With my dad's side, we went down to the southern side of Tawain. We went to Gaoshong and Kenting. At Gaoshong, we went to Eda, which is an amusement park with department store. It was fun. I went on a water ride and got soaked! But luckily, it was super hot and I dryed off. A couple days later, we rode a bus for 2 hours that took us to Kenting. I got carsick. I didn't throw up, but I kinda felt like it. Anyway, when we got there, it was gorgeous. Kenting is by the ocean, so there were a lot of water activities. I first when to the swimming pool with Ellie. It was awesome! There was even a diving board! The boys went body boarding. I heard that they were really good. The next day, I went body boarding with them. It was fun at first, but then I got tired and kept slipping off. I had a lot of fun though! When we came back, I spent another week with my mom's side of the family. We lived at my grandparent's apartment. My two cousins are Hubert (age 10) and Jessie (age 6 or 7). Since they live in Taiwain, they speak more Chinese, and I use their Chinese names more. Jessie actually chose her own English name. She loved the Jessie from Toy Story, so she chose that. Of course now she likes Elsa and Anna and Frozen, but she said that she is still Jessie. Anyway, I miss home, but this was an awesome trip. I actually come back almost every summer, so next year you might hear more!

Fun Fact: There is a really famous lighthouse at Kenting. I forgot what the name was, and I actually got to see it, so if you can find the name of the lighthouse, you'll get a shoutout.

All good to eat, along with bamboo shoots.

Tyme For Tea

Hi guys!

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. Summer is here and I was catching up on my relaxation time! So today my mom took me to this really cute tea time place called Tyme for Tea. It's just a little Victorian style tea place. It was fun! We ordered a little set and got a scone, some savory dishes, and some desserts. Of course, there was also tea. We got Peach Passion tea. It was kinda strong for me, so I put a lot of sugar and milk. The entire place was so old fashion/high end. The teacups were different designs, and the sugar bowl and milk cup thing (you know what I'm talking about) looked exactly like what you might see on TV (if you like watching those movies that take place in old England or something). It was a really great experience. There was a big bin full of hats next to a mirror that you could try on and be silly. I took some hats and laughed at how silly I looked and took pictures. I also took some pictures of the place and food. There are some below. Check it out!

Fun Fact: Tea from old England was actually influenced by the Chinese and Japanese.

Happy Tea Time!

Good Bye, Laptop

Hi guys!

I'm kinda sad cuz I had to give back my laptop. It was actually the school's, so I had to turn it in today. Right now, I'm using a different laptop at home. I'll try to blog as often as I can, which might not be too hard, because I have this laptop. But it might not be as much as during the school year because me and my mom share this laptop.

I Wonder: How often will I get to blog? (A lot, I hope!)

Rockin' Jump

Hi guys!

Yesterday (Sunday) was Sunshine Rainbow Girl's birthday party. It was at that new trampoline place called Rockin' Jump. I had so much fun! There was a main trampoline area, a basketball court, a dodgeball court, and a foam pit. I didn't really play at the basketball court, only for a short period of time. And I only did the dodgeball when it was our private game. But I really played at the foam pit. It was so much fun! I kept trying to do a flip, but always ended up doing a belly flop instead. I think I did a flip once, but it wasn't even a full, proper flip. I still had a lot of fun. Awesome party!

I Wonder: Will I get to go to Rockin' Jump again soon? (I hope so!)

What I Did Yesterday

Hi guys!

Wow, I haven't posted in a while. I guess I was too busy. But yesterday was a pretty fun day. Here's what happened:

My school had an 8th grade graduation. I'm not in 8th grade, but I'm in band, and the band had to play for the graduation. So I had to go. But the good thing was that a ton of my other friends were also in band, and two of my other friends chose to go and sit in the audience. So when the graduation was finished, there was food and a photo booth with silly props. I took a ton of pictures with my friends. Then we all got food. Bacon Girl was one of the girls who chose to come, since her mom was already going. After I left the graduation, I ended up going shopping at a mall with Bacon Girl! We had so much fun, and we bought clothes from Forever 21. Then we went to Claire's to buy presents for Sunshine Girl's party! We also went to Aeropostale and Icing, but we didn't buy anything there.

It was a really good day yesterday. Well, today might be even better because today is Sunshine Girl's party! Can't wait!

I Wonder: What will the party be like?

Book #8

Hi guys!

Here's more of my book!

“Today we are going to be doing something different, class,” Mr. Flicker, our science teacher, told us, “We are going to the school gardens to observe plants. Please take your notebooks to record you observations.”
We headed out and stopped by the gate that marked the entrance to the gardens.
“Pair up!” Mr. Flicker called.
Grace and I looked at each other and said, “Partners?”
We laughed a bit, then went off to explore the area. I examined a few flowers, jotted it down in my notebook, then looked up to find Grace pointing at someone.
“Check it out,” she said, “That’s Fredrick Villisana. He’s the nerdiest guy in school. I heard that he’s got no friends, but also a perfect GPA.”
Fredrick Villisana was wearing slacks, a green turtleneck (even though it was pretty hot outside), and round, chunky glasses. All the things you usually see on a nerd.
“What’s he doing with Zillia?” I asked, watching the two drag along. Well, Zillia was dragging. Fredrick was bouncing around her, racing to pretty much every plant.
“Only groups of two are allowed, remember? So I guess Calia chose Stacy instead,” Grace shook her head, “Poor Zillia. Calia’s just not worth it.”
We worked a little longer, until Mr. Flicker blew his whistle to signal the end of class. Everyone gathered back at the classroom to get their stuff and left. I did the same, only I didn’t notice my notebook, still sitting on my desk when I left.

Hope you liked it!

I Wonder: How old will I be when I finally finish this?

Maleficent

Hey guys!

Have you heard of the new movie "Maleficent"? It came out on May 30. And guess what? I got to watch it on May 31! The movie theater was packed! I had to sit in the very front rows, the rows where your neck has to bend back so you can see the screen. But I loved Maleficent! It is a really good movie, in my opinion. The movie is basically Sleeping Beauty, but really twisted. At first I thought it was gonna be a creepy movie because Maleficent's skin looks really pale and freaky on the front. But then my dad told me that the movie is rated PG. The movie was even funny at times. I seriously recommend it. Go watch it!

Fun Fact: Angelina Jolie starrs in "Maleficent". Her role: Maleficent. (Duh!)

Memorial Day

Hi guys!

I know I'm a bit late for Memorial Day. But I didn't have the time to tell u how much fun I had yesterday! So here it is now. On Monday, we had a barbecue. I invited my friend from school over. My dad invited his friend over. My mom invited her friend over. So we all had friends over. There was also this 4-year-old girl that was my mom's friend's daughter. My friend and I watched her and played with her. She was so cute! At one point, she wanted to act out scenes from the movie Frozen. So I was Olaf, my friend was Anna, and the girl was Elsa. Half the time, I didn't know where we were in the movie! We also did a lot of other stuff while the adults talked. Awesome time!

I Wonder: Will we have a barbecue again next year?

School Dance: Party Time!

Hey guys!

Tonight was the school dance!!! I had a lot of fun. So, when I first got there, it was kinda awkward. My friends were there, and other people, but no one was really dancing. We just stood around and talked and ate (the food was good!). Then, after a while, some of us just started moving around, you know, getting loose and warming up. The dance was from 6:00-9:00 pm. By 7:30, we were all sweaty from dancing! There were balloons, and we started playing with them. I started chasing a few girls around, trying to hit them with a balloon! At about 8:40, we decided to play Musical Chairs. I lost. It was funny because the two girls that were competing for the last chair were trying to push each other off. There was so much laughing and shouting. When familiar songs were playing, we would all shout/sing the lyrics. By we, I mean all the girls at the dance. All the boys were sitting around and talking. The girls sometimes formed circles and just jumped and danced around. Can't wait for next year!!!

I Wonder: What will the next theme be? (This years, BTW, was Under the Sea. I don't know if I said it yet, so there it is.)

Book #7

Hey readers!

For my book, now it's moving on to Chapter 3!

Chapter 3: Pranks
“Athena! Athena! Wake up! You’re going to be late for school!”
“What time izzit?” I complained.
Mom came in. “You have to get up, Athena. Breakfast is ready.”
I dragged myself out of bed and got dressed. It’s already been almost three weeks of going to my new school, and still I wasn’t used to the new schedule. I went downstairs. Ruby was already there, texting and eating at the same time. I quickly inhaled scrambled eggs and a piece of buttered toast. While eating, Dad came in with the mail. “Bills, advertisements, and a coupon,” he muttered to himself as he examined each envelope. “Better hurry up, girls. The bus will be here any minute.”
I finished, brushed my teeth, and threw everything in my backpack. Just as I slung it over my shoulder, the bus pulled up outside the window. I raced outside and climbed on. Grace saw me and smiled, patting the seat next to her. I sat down and took out my phone to check my email. One of the messages were from Lily Springwater. Lily had emailed me! Before I could read it, Grace said, “I love your shoes, Athena. Where did you get them?”
I stuck out a foot and replied, “Fillyflower’s Magic Shoes. These were on sale. Seven dollars only.”
I tucked my phone back in my backpack and chatted with Grace the rest of the time on the bus. Walking down the hall at school, I accidentally bumped into someone.
“Oops, sorry I-.” Then I realized who I bumped into. Calia.
She sneered and said, “Better watch where you’re going, newbie.” She gave me a dirty look and strode away.
“Ignore her,” Grace advised.
“Thanks,” I said gratefully.
We stopped by our lockers and got our books. The bell rang and we rushed to science class.

Hope you enjoyed this part! Thanks to all of you for your positive feedback!

This Weekend

Sup guys!

I didn't have time yestarday to post what I did over the weekend, so here it is now:

Saturday:
My only eventful day other than Friday. On this Saturday, I went to church to help watch some little kids while the adults had some meeting thing. Then I left early with my dad to go to this cool place called Maker Faire. Maker Faire is kinda like science meets arts and crafts. There was electronic stuff, like robots, and some art stuff, like make a bracelet. I made a pat-yourself-on-the-back medal out of felt. That was kinda fun. I saw a ton of 3D printers there. 3D printers are really cool. (Ask your parents about them. I'm sure they know.) Then I saw some flying drones (robots) fighting each other. Basically, people have remote controlled flying robots that try to knock each other out. That was awesome. So search up Maker Faire. There's a lot of cool stuff to look at and try.

Sunday:
Your average Sunday. I went to church, then to Chinese school. Nothing else, except homework, which is not something I want to blog about.

Fun Fact: To find the Maker Faire website, just search up Maker Faire, and click on the first link (I think).

Have a Happy Week!

Great America Fun!

Hi guys!

I had soooo much fun yestarday!!! As you guys know, yestarday (Friday) was our middle school Great America trip. It was awesome! I hung out with some friends. We rode all three water rides, getting completely soaked. We rode rollar coasters and a few kiddie rides just for the fun of it. And of course, we rode the merry-go-around. You cannot go to an amusement park, and not ride the merry-go-around. For lunch, I had this great pizza. And I also bought a bracelet.

Fun Fact: Goldstriker, the newest roller coaster in Great America, is the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in Northern California. Wish I rode it! (I didn't get to.)

Book #6

Hey guys!

Here's more of my book!

“So, Ruby, how was your new school?” Mom asked.
Ruby thought for a moment while chewing her corn. “Well,” she answered,”My new math teacher Mr. Silvershine’s personality does not shine at all. He is, like, the strictest teacher in all of the world. He gave me a hundred problems just to see how much I know. I hate him!”
Mom and Dad exchanged worried looks. “Anyway,” Dad said, “How was your first day, Athena?”
I looked down, then looked back up. “I made a new friend. Her name is Grace, and she’s really nice. She showed me around.” I didn’t want to tell them about Goldway Gang today. Didn’t want to get them too worried.
There were a few silent moments while everybody finished up. Then Dad broke the silence. “All right, girls. Time for bed.”
I beat Ruby to the shower and got undressed. For once she didn’t argue about not getting enough warm water. Maybe the new school thing was that bad. After I had finished, while I was combing my hair in my room, Ruby came and plopped down in a beanbag chair.
“What’s the secret?” she asked.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, come on. I can tell that something’s bugging you,” she said
“Everything’s fine.”
“Ok then, Miss Secret. But I know you. This problem will get too big, and since Mom and Dad won’t get it the teenage girl way, you’ll come to me.” Ruby said that last part rather proudly.
“I can figure it out myself,” I answered.
“Ahh, so there is a problem.” Ruby smiled and left.
“Grrr,” I said after her.

This was more of Chapter 2. Hope you enjoyed it!

Nothing interesting here today.

Book #5

Hey readers!

I know I said that you might not see anymore of my book until summer, but apparently I had some spare time and was able to type up more. Here it is:

Chapter 2: Home
I was in my room when my older sister, Ruby, came back from cheerleading practice. Ruby was tall and blond, the kind of blond that was popular and drove boys nuts when she smiled at them. She was popular at our old school, and today I saw her moving in with crowd. Not Goldway Gang (thank goodness), but pretty close. Now that she joined the cheerleading squad, that only boosted her reputation even more.
She peeked into my room. “Dork,” she muttered.
“Pizza Face,” I called.
Ruby just rolled her eyes and went to her room. I smiled and went back to doing homework. Three hours and two spell practices later, Mom and Dad came home. They both work at Fairie Inventions Inc. Dad made a beeline for the hover-puter, and Mom started dinner. After a while, Mom called, “Food is ready!”
Dad quickly shut off the ‘puter, and Ruby raced downstairs, while I trudged down. This was the moment I dreaded. This was the time to tell my family about my new school.

Not a lot, but I probably will have more of this chapter tomorrow or something. Hope you enjoyed it!

Spring Fling Fun!

Hi guys!

Spring Fling was awesome! We walked to the lake, and then we started filling up water balloons. It was fun hitting and splashing people. Then we had burgers and hot dogs and chips for lunch. Afterwards it was kinda free time, and there was a volleyball net and we started a game of kickball, but with water! For the bases, there were little blow-up kiddie pools that were filled and u had to get in. People had water guns, and it was so cool! Then I went to the playground with some friends. I had to change 'cause I got wet.

Book #4

Hi guys!

So, I haven't really posted my book. Truth is, I totally forgot about it until my friend reminded me. So here is more:

I sat there, bored, as Mr. Starbright talked about geometry. I wish I had Spell-Casting class, or even Wands (which I was horrible at). Humans think that fairies all have exotic classes, which we do, but we still learn the basics: math, history, science, and language arts. Just all fairy-ish. For example, for math, we’re learing how to calculate the perimeter and area of different wing types. I started to gaze off, thinking about the day. About Grace, Goldway Gang, the dodgeball game. About everything else too, really. This school, Wonder Wings High, may not be the worst school ever. I have Grace. She might be the only one, but that doesn’t matter. At least someone won’t hate me. For the rest of the period, I was spaced out, thinking. It’s amazing that I didn’t get caught. I already knew all this stuff anyway, from my old school. Finally, after thirty long minutes, it was time to go home. I packed my stuff and got into the flying school bus. At least Grace also rode the bus, so I won’t be lonely. I sat down next to her, but we didn’t really talk. I kept comparing Wonder Wings with my old school, Magic Maple High. Sure, I still missed my best friend Lily, but with Grace, I figured I would survive. As the bus pulled up at my stop, I got out and looked back. Grace did a little wave at me. I waved back. Turning toward home, I felt that my new school wasn’t so bad after all. Maybe it never will be, but I soon found out how wrong I was.

There's another cliff hanger for you. I really need to add to my book so don't really expect more until summer starts and I can start writing again.

I Wonder: How will my book turn out?

Thanks for Reading!

Where I live, it is sweltering! The hightest was, like, 93˚F! At least I didn't have P.E. (Physical Education, for those of you who don't know) or soccor practice. I think I would die if we had soccor practice. Well, it's getting late. Gotta go to bed.

I Wonder: If this is spring, how hot is summer going to be?!

Fave Songs 1

Hey guys!

I decided to have this thing called Fave Songs, and this is the first one. It's just some songs I really like. Each Fave Songs post will include a few of my favorite songs. Here are the first three:

1.) Headphones by Britt Nicole
2.) Gold by Britt Nicole
3.) All This Time by Britt Nicole

As you can see, I really like Britt Nicole's songs. These are Christian songs. Search these up, they're good. If you listen to all three, comment below on which one was your favorite.

Fun Fact: Britt Nicole was born on August 2, 1984. (Also, search up some of her other songs. They're pretty good too.)

Back to School

Hi readers!

So today was back-to-school from spring break. I'm sad and happy. Sad: I have homework and classes. Happy: I can see my friends. It's getting late. I don't like homework! Comment below if you don't like homework either. If no one comments, I will be very surprised.

Nothing interesting here today.

Today

Hi readers!

Today I went to a friend's house. We made vanilla cupcakes, but we didn't have any milk so we used soymilk. We also didn't have any baking powder so we used baking soda, which isn't exactly the right substitue, but we were like,"Let's just put it in and see what happens." So that's what we did, and the cupcakes didn't turn out so good. But whatever. Trial and error.

Fun Fact: Here is the link of the recipe website: http://allrecipes.com/. There are lots of good recipes here. If you have all the right ingredients, I'm sure it'll turn out better than mine!

Hawaii: Day 4 & Plane Ride

Hi guys!

I didn't have time during the rest of my trip to blog, so I'm doing it now.

Day 4: We were going to go snorkeling at this place called Anini Beach (that's where the sea turtles are), but it was too cold. Meaning, it was only 73 degrees, which is pretty cold in Hawaii. Anyway, we got there, but it started to get real windy, so we kinda just drove around to different beaches for the next 2 hours. Then, around 2:00, I think, we stopped by Anini and snorkeled 'cause it warmed up. I didn't see any turtles, but there was this huge school of fish just hanging around the bottom. All the same kind of fish! That may not sound amazing, but imagine swimming, and then seeing, a small group of fish all of a sudden swim into this huge group! There must've been hundreds! Pretty cool.

Day 5/Plane Ride: Of course, the plane ride was boring. The plane that I was on, didn't have an individual TV for each passenger. It just had one big screen. They played The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. I kinda got bored. I slept a lot too. Got home around 10:30 PM, I think. Right now, I'm typing this from the comfort of my own bed.

That is my Hawaii spring break trip! I had fun. I went swimming everyday (except day 4) and got a ton of mosquito bites. They're healing now. The weather in Hawaii is really weird. It'll rain for 5-10 min really hard, like pouring shower. And then it'll just stop and the sun'll come out. I think it's because the wind blows the clouds past this way. Then it blows it past us. Really funny the first time I saw that.

Fun  Fact: The other places I snorkeled at are Hanelei Bay and Poipu. My fave is Poipu. The place I kayaked at was Wailua River.

Happy Weekend!

Hawaii: Day 2 & 3

Hey guys!

Good job to Arielle Asino for figuring out which island I'm on. Yes, I'm on Kauai.

Anyway, these past couple days, I've been snorkeling!!! It was so much fun! I saw soooo much fish! They were so close I could touch them! I tried, but every time I reached out, they swam away. Fast. But I did touch one with my foot. I love snorkeling now. It is the best! I think we're going snorkeling again today. I heard that where we're going, there are sea turtles!

Fun Fact: There are lots of species of fish. You should already know that. I'm just saying.

Happy Snorkeling!

Hawaii: Day 1

Hey guys!

My first day in Hawaii!!! Well, actually, its my second day, but I'm going to tell you about my first day. Here's what happened:

We (my parents and me) went kayaking on this big river. My arms were really tired afterwards. We kayaked for, like, over 2 hours. And that was only one way there! When we stopped, we hiked for more than another hour. Again, only one way. There was sooooo much mud! I got super muddy! There was this long stretch of mud that was like glop. Some people just went straight through! I didn't. Then, when we stopped, there was a waterfall! That was our destination. There we had lunch, and I went swimming in the little pool under the waterfall. It was so cold! But so worth it. Then we packed up and had to hike back and kayak back. Everyone was sore by the time we got back. I got a ton of bug bites. Very itchy.

So that's what I did. Today we plan to go snorkeling. That was what I wanted to do most. Can't wait!

Fun Fact: Hawaii has lots of volcanoes. I'm on the island whose nickname is the Garden Isle. If you can guess which island I'm on, you will get a shout out at my next post!

Open House Presentations

Hey guys!

Wow, last night was hard yet sort of fun. For 30 minutes, I had to stand in my costume of Hatshepsut and present to random people. One mom came over with her 2 daughters and even asked if I could take a picture with them! Apparently, the two girls thought my dress was pretty. It was very awkward. So, that's over and spring break can begin. Yay!!! But I have to do it again next year.

I Wonder: Who will I pick for Great Lives next year?

Hi guys!

I got a small fever! I'm probably staying home for school tomorrow. Which sucks 'cause it's Open House and I want to be there for last minute project details, like the temple project (people of my class, you know what I'm talking about!). I'll be there for Open House. My head hurts now. I'm gonna go rest. Later!

I Wonder: Will I get better in time for my spring break trip? (I'll tell you guys where I'm going afterwards due to security reasons.)

Updates on Past Few Days

Hey guys!

Sorry I haven't been posting! I've been so busy this past weekend. Here's what I did:

Friday: A ton of people come over each Friday for a bible study group. There are lots of little kids. I'm the oldest. I think you can figure out the rest.

Saturday: I had the Math Olympics. I don't know if you remember, but I did a post on it a couple months ago. I got fourth place! After Math Olympics, a friend came over. We baked a 3-layer cake (so proud!) and frosted it and everything. Maybe I'll post a picture of it later. We also watched a lot of TV.

Sunday: I had church, then I had Chinese school. Then my family and I went out for dinner. Yeah, no time.

Monday: Went to school. Did a presentation.

So that's all. I gotta go know. See ya!

Book Review

Hi guys!

So it's been a while since I've done a book review, but here's one now. The book is called The Cabinet of Wonders. It's about a girl named Petra. The setting of the book is with magic, so if you don't like stuff that is totally fake, you shouldn't read this book. Anyways, Petra's dad has a magical talent for metal. He goes to the prince's castle to build a clock for the prince, but when he's almost done, the prince commands a magician to gouge out his eyes and sent him away blind. Petra sets out to go back and get her dad's eyes back. Read the book! It's really good. There's also a second one called The Celestial Globe. That one's good too. I don't have it, but I think I borrowed it from the library. Take a look at these books!

Fun Fact: The author of these books is Marie Rutkoski.

I expected Divergent to be as creepy as the previews, but it wasn't. So all was good. Especially the movie. Movie was especially good! I totally recommend it. I'm sleepy now. Good night!

So Many Projects! + Open House

Hi guys!

For school, I have so many projects to work on! Reason why: Open House is coming up! Open House at my school is basically every grade does a ton of projects and decorates their classrooms. Then on some Friday night, all the parents come and see. It's really cool to see what the other kids have done. For my class, we have to finish a report plus lots of other in school projects that are fun but a little stressful. That's all for now!

I Wonder: What are the other grades going to do this year?

Hi guys!

So, today I watched a lot of TV. I know, not very good. But very relaxing. One of my favorites shows is called Once Upon A Time. It's about a town where everyone is a character in a fairytale. It's very interesting. If you want to watch it, it's on Netflix. Awesome show. My friend came over, and we watched Once Upon A Time. Then we decided to do something else. We just talked. Try the show. It's so good!

Fun Fact: Once Upon A Time was made by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. Sorry, that's all I found.

Hi guys!

I made the soccer team at my school! Well, for my school, if you show up at tryouts, you make it because we desperately need players! So, it's been fun. I am so sore! Our first game is next Tuesday. Oh, and another thing. My school held a Jog-A-Thon to raise money for our Athletics Department. I ran 21 laps. It was yesteday on Thursday.  It was actually pretty fun. They played music and we had BBQ afterwards. Awesome!

Certificate of Merit

Hey readers!

This upcoming Saturday is my piano evaluation, called CM (Certificate of Merit). It's very stressful. I have to play my warm-up scales, sight-read, like, 8 measures, then play 4 long and hard songs. Then after that, I got to go to my theory test. In case you don't know, theory is like piano homework. I like the theory test better because you don't have a judge watching your every move! The playing part is, yes, in front of a judge. I'm in level 6, so if I pass, I'm going to level 7 (doing the math!). I'm very stressed 'cause my songs aren't exactly good. Whatever. I'm gonna do my best!

I Wonder: Will I pass?

I have this lotion that was supposed to work, but it turns out that I'm allergic to it! Thanks to my mom, I have sort of sensitive skin. St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patty's Day!

This is just a short post because I have a ton of homework. But Happy St. Patrick's Day! Wear green! Don't get pinched! Funny story (to me): this morning I pinched my mom because she wasn't wearing green and when she came to pick me up from school this afternoon, she was wearing green. And she said that it was so that I don't pinch her again! Sort-of funny. Whatever. Bye!

Fun Fact: St. Patrick used the shamrock as an example for the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That is why shamrocks are used today (I think).

Outdoor Ed Fun!!!

Wassup readers!

I had a blast at Outdoor Ed! So here is what I did for each of the days. I'll try to remember the important stuff.

Monday: We got there around lunch time and got a tour of the place. Also got our roommates. I got roomed with my best friend. Almost my entire class joined the Banana Slug Club by putting a banana slug on their nose. I did it too. Just one or two kids didn't. Dinner: Hamburgers!

Tuesday: Got up and had morning class and afternoon class. We went hiking so much! That was the day we hiked most. We also put ash on our faces and ate ants that tasted like sour cream and onion chips. No joke! My roommate went home sick!!! Argh! Got a new roommate who I'm good friends with. We also went on a Night Hike and a Solo Walk. I only used my flashlight a little bit. Lunch: Make-your-own Burritos!

Wednesday: Morning and afternoon class. I think we put mud on our face this time. I forgot most of the day. Oh yeah, and some kid drank two pitchers of pink lemonade and had to go to the bathroom in the woods! Lol. At Evening Activity we had a Barn Dance. So much fun!

Thursday: Morning and afternoon class. Our guide was substituted with someone else and he ate poop! He picked it up, broke it, smelled it, then tasted it to see what animal made it! (Caution: these are trained specialists. Do not try this at home!) Just kidding! The poop was a granola bar that he planted to gross us out! We were grossed out but all laughing in the end!

Friday: Left and went to the beach. Tried to make a human pyramid and succeeded more or less. Super fun! Everyone went home except for me cuz I had a church retreat there on the weekend.

I had an awesome week! So much fun! I wish that I could go back. Sadly, it's only for sixth grade. But I had a spectacular time!

Fun Fact: We went to...(drum roll) Mission Springs! It's in Santa Cruz.

Great Lives

Hi guys!

At my school, there's this thing that's called Great Lives. We choose a person from our history time period, write a report about him or her, and dress up as that person and give a presentation. My class' time period is Ancient Civilizations, so I chose Hatshepsut. She is an Egyptian woman pharaoh, a very respected and great one. I was going to be Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, but we can't do a god or goddess (sad). I like to dress up, but the presenting and the report is not my favorite.

Fun Fact: Hatshepsut was the fifth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. She is considered as one of the most successful pharaohs.

Book #3

Hey readers!

Despite what you voted on the poll, I'm going to try to post my book about 1-3 times a week. Here's some more:

“All right, everybody! Today’s a game of dodgeball. No flying allowed! No magic allowed!” Coach Goldstone yelled, “Use human rules. Calia and Grace, you two are captains.”
We were standing in the gym. It was a big, spacious room with basketballs, baseballs, soccer balls, and pretty much everything else related to human sports, as well as some fairy equipment, all piled up neatly in one corner. Even from across the room, I could feel cold waves coming from Calia as she eyed me. “You are going down,” she mouthed.
The captains picked teams, and the game started. I was on Grace’s team. Just as I was about to throw a ball, the coach waved me over. I walked to him, and he asked me,”I assume you’re new, is that right?”
I shifted uncomfortably. “Ummm... yeah.”
“Do you know how to play?” he gestured at the game.
“Sure,” I answered,” I play it all the time.”
“Great! You can go back now,” Coach Goldstone nodded and turned away.
I rejoined the game with high spirits, but that quickly faded when I saw how it was going. Grace was alone with only two others. Over on Calia’s side, everybody was still there. Calia caught sight of me and pointed. “Everyone, there’s your new target! Whoever hits her first, gets to sit with Goldway Gang tomorrow at lunch. I might even talk to you!”
Dozens of students surged forward, eager for the prize. I noticed that there were mostly boys in the front. Every single ball missed me. I guess all the boys’ aims were off due to the fact that they seemed a bit too rushed. Anyway, I picked up a ball and threw it. It caught someone square in the chest. Grumbling, he walked away. Calia looked amused. “You may have some skill, but I’m the real star. I’m athletic, pretty, gorgeous, smart, nice, and everything else in between. Here’s a little reminder.”
She launched a ball at me. I snatched it out of the air with ease. Even Calia had a surprised look. I just smiled and continued. The rest of the game was a blur. Grace’s team was increasing fast, while Calia was sitting out, watching. After about another ten or so minutes, it was time to go to math. I was then given the title Most Athletic Fairy by my teammates.

Hope you like my book so far!

I Wonder: When will I finish this?

Rainbow Loom

Sup guys!

So, for Missions Week at my school, my class is selling Rainbow Loom-made items (bracelets, pencil grips, charms), duct tape items (hair bows, wallets, pencil pouches), and origami. We sold stuff today and yestarday. I think we're also selling on Friday (I'm not sure). Anyways, we sold almost everything in, like, 20 minutes. Now we have a ton of pre-orders from kids who arrived late. Someone ordered 17 fishtail bracelets! I'm running really low on a few colors. This is exciting, as well as tiring. I was one of the people selling today, and I barely had enough time to finish lunch! But it was also sort of fun.

Fun Fact: Rainbow Loom was created by Cheong Choon Ng. Why? Because his fingers were too big to make bracelets like his daughters, so he made the Rainbow Loom to help.

Book #2

Hi-ya guys!

So here's some more of my book. I'll try to put some of it up every week sometimes twice a week. Vote on the poll. Anyways:

At lunch, I pulled out a ham and cheese sandwich with some sparkles sprinkled on. Man, I told my mom over and over again not to add sparkles! Anyway, the girl who had grinned at me came over and sat on the opposite bench. “Hi Athena. I’m Gracina, but you can call me Grace. I want to be your friend.”
I was stunned. Not many people wanted to even be partners for a project with me, let alone be my friend. Then Grace spoke up. “You don’t look like you enjoy your lunch. Want to trade? I’ve got shimmer salad.”
It was tempting. Shimmer salad was my favorite. “Well, okay,” I replied.
We switched and started eating. After a while, Grace said, “I know it’s hard on the first day. When I got here I felt so lonely. But then I made some new friends, and it wasn’t so bad anymore.”
I nodded. “That’s exactly how I feel right now. It’s just so hard-”
“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” a voice interrupted me.
I turned around and saw a girl from my homeroom, Wands and Spells, and probably many other of my classes. Two other unfamiliar girls stood behind her. Grace balled up her fists. “Calia, what are you doing here?” she asked testily.
Calia smiled coldly. “That’s Goldway Gang to you. I just thought that I’d welcome the newbie, you know, since I’m the most popular fairy in school.”
“Your bragging isn’t a very welcome sight, Calia. You should leave before your new-looking shoes get some orange juice all over them.” Grace shook her carton threateningly.
Calia laughed. “You’ve got spunk Grace, but you’re no match for me. At P.E, you and Athena better watch out. I’m gonna smash you as flat as wings.”
The other girls snickered, and Goldway Gang left. “Who’s she?” I asked.
“That’s Calia, Stacilina, and Zillia. They call themselves Goldway Gang, and they expect everyone else to do the same. They’re the popular clique. What bugs me is that even if they do something wrong, they never get in trouble.”
“Why?”
Because,” Grace explained,” Her dad’s the principal. And, almost all the boys are in love with her because they think that she’s so PRETTY.”
“Wow,” I agreed,” She’s just mean.”
“Yeah. Calia isn’t the nicest or smartest girl around. But she sure is glamorous.”
We rose as the bell rang. Lunch was over. “Come on,” Grace said, “Time for P.E.”

Maybe that was a bit too much. Whatever. Comment on how you like it!

Fun Fact: I started this book when I was in 3rd grade. I wrote it on a notebook, and revised it while I was typing. Hope you enjoyed!

Math Olympics

Hi again!

At my school, we have to take a test for this thing called Math Olympics. We don't do the Math Olympics, we take a test to find out who's going to the Math Olympics. There are two categories: computation and reasoning. Computation is solving problems, operations, etc. Reasoning is solving word problems. My class took the test last Friday, and I'm going for computation! I've been to the Math Olympics before, in third and fourth grade. There's a total of six kids going, three on each catergory. I can't say I'm super excited, but I'm at least looking forward to it.

I Wonder: How hard will this be?
