Golfland!

Hi guys!

As you know, I went to Golfland today with the middle school from my school. It was awesome! The mini-golf was really wet because of the rain, though. But I still played it once. I did the laser tag twice. I love laser tag now!!! I thought the vibration/vest thing would hurt, but I barely felt it. It was so much fun! I want to go again now! Anyway, the arcade was cool too. I got an animal print necklace, a giant Pixy Stick, a blue Airhead (candy), an owl eraser, and a rainbow heart bracelet (which I gave away). It was AMAZING!!!!!

I Wonder: When will be the next time I go laser tagging? (Soon, I hope!)

Rainbow Loom

Sup guys!

So, for Missions Week at my school, my class is selling Rainbow Loom-made items (bracelets, pencil grips, charms), duct tape items (hair bows, wallets, pencil pouches), and origami. We sold stuff today and yestarday. I think we're also selling on Friday (I'm not sure). Anyways, we sold almost everything in, like, 20 minutes. Now we have a ton of pre-orders from kids who arrived late. Someone ordered 17 fishtail bracelets! I'm running really low on a few colors. This is exciting, as well as tiring. I was one of the people selling today, and I barely had enough time to finish lunch! But it was also sort of fun.

Fun Fact: Rainbow Loom was created by Cheong Choon Ng. Why? Because his fingers were too big to make bracelets like his daughters, so he made the Rainbow Loom to help.

No Detention Party Trimester 2

Hi guys!

I can't wait for this Thursday! The middle school at my school is going to Golfland in Milpitas! I heard that there was laser tag, mini golf, and we each get 10 free tokens! I can't wait! Okay, that's all for now. See ya later!

I Wonder: Will I have time to do everything?

Book #2

Hi-ya guys!

So here's some more of my book. I'll try to put some of it up every week sometimes twice a week. Vote on the poll. Anyways:

At lunch, I pulled out a ham and cheese sandwich with some sparkles sprinkled on. Man, I told my mom over and over again not to add sparkles! Anyway, the girl who had grinned at me came over and sat on the opposite bench. “Hi Athena. I’m Gracina, but you can call me Grace. I want to be your friend.”
I was stunned. Not many people wanted to even be partners for a project with me, let alone be my friend. Then Grace spoke up. “You don’t look like you enjoy your lunch. Want to trade? I’ve got shimmer salad.”
It was tempting. Shimmer salad was my favorite. “Well, okay,” I replied.
We switched and started eating. After a while, Grace said, “I know it’s hard on the first day. When I got here I felt so lonely. But then I made some new friends, and it wasn’t so bad anymore.”
I nodded. “That’s exactly how I feel right now. It’s just so hard-”
“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” a voice interrupted me.
I turned around and saw a girl from my homeroom, Wands and Spells, and probably many other of my classes. Two other unfamiliar girls stood behind her. Grace balled up her fists. “Calia, what are you doing here?” she asked testily.
Calia smiled coldly. “That’s Goldway Gang to you. I just thought that I’d welcome the newbie, you know, since I’m the most popular fairy in school.”
“Your bragging isn’t a very welcome sight, Calia. You should leave before your new-looking shoes get some orange juice all over them.” Grace shook her carton threateningly.
Calia laughed. “You’ve got spunk Grace, but you’re no match for me. At P.E, you and Athena better watch out. I’m gonna smash you as flat as wings.”
The other girls snickered, and Goldway Gang left. “Who’s she?” I asked.
“That’s Calia, Stacilina, and Zillia. They call themselves Goldway Gang, and they expect everyone else to do the same. They’re the popular clique. What bugs me is that even if they do something wrong, they never get in trouble.”
“Why?”
Because,” Grace explained,” Her dad’s the principal. And, almost all the boys are in love with her because they think that she’s so PRETTY.”
“Wow,” I agreed,” She’s just mean.”
“Yeah. Calia isn’t the nicest or smartest girl around. But she sure is glamorous.”
We rose as the bell rang. Lunch was over. “Come on,” Grace said, “Time for P.E.”

Maybe that was a bit too much. Whatever. Comment on how you like it!

Fun Fact: I started this book when I was in 3rd grade. I wrote it on a notebook, and revised it while I was typing. Hope you enjoyed!

Math Olympics

Hi again!

At my school, we have to take a test for this thing called Math Olympics. We don't do the Math Olympics, we take a test to find out who's going to the Math Olympics. There are two categories: computation and reasoning. Computation is solving problems, operations, etc. Reasoning is solving word problems. My class took the test last Friday, and I'm going for computation! I've been to the Math Olympics before, in third and fourth grade. There's a total of six kids going, three on each catergory. I can't say I'm super excited, but I'm at least looking forward to it.

I Wonder: How hard will this be?

My Book

Hey readers!

So I don't know if I mentioned it already, but I'm writing a chapter book. It's called BFF. It's about fairies, but fairies that go to school and have classes. Sure they have magic and wings and stuff like that, but they are still pretty normal. Basically like humans, but with extra stuff. Do not think my book is childish and/or for little kids. This story is about a girl who's going to a new school. Here's the first part:

Chapter 1: New School
Miss Flutterby called on me to introduce myself. Great. This is what I hate about going to a new school in the middle of a school year. I have to say my name, age, and birthday. So I stood up and said, “Hi. My name is Athena Magicdust. I’m 15 and turning 16 on January 14. Thank you.” I sat down again. Another girl smiled at me. I tried to smile back at her, thinking that it was a joke. As I settled back in my seat, Miss Flutterby talked about our upcoming homeroom project. I didn’t really hear her, though. I was too busy thinking about how much I wished school was over. First days are always uncomfortable.

If you enjoyed that, great! If you didn't, well, tough luck, 'cause I'm going to be putting up more in the future. Thanks for reading!

I Wonder: Will I achieve my dream of becoming a best-selling author?

Happy Reading & Writing!

School

Hi again!

So yestarday, my school started again, but as you guys know, I didn't go (I did mention that, right?). Anyway, I went today, and it was okay. Coughing is still kinda bad, but I wasn't, like, horrible. Actually, it is pretty bad. I can't even laugh without breaking into a cough! My voice does sound a bit hoarse. So, that's all for now. Please pray for me, Bacon Girl, Sunshine Rainbow Girl, and 1D Girl. We're all feeling sick!

I Wonder: How did we all get sick? (Probably from Bacon Girl. She got it first.)

Statistics

Hi readers!

You know how some school stuff is just a snap, but others you fail on? For me it's statistics! I really hate statistics. Usually my school work is pretty good (not to brag), but on statistics I pretty much died. Now my dad is teaching me statistics. It's ok, but not my preferred activity (sorry, Dad). I'm stuck on some concepts and whatever. My overall grade went way down because of statistics. Grrr.

I Wonder: Who made statistics? (Whoever can answer this question in the comments section will get their name on the next post, 'cause I am not searching this up!)

Honey

Hey guys!

Today I went to the doctor's office to get checked for my cough, and the doctor said that honey actually soothes the throat better than cough medicine! I'm not making it up! Now, I don't know if it worked or not, but it tastes so good! Way better than cough medicine. Maybe it did help a little. But, if you're coughing, try it, and tell me how it works (or tastes)!

I Wonder: Does honey actually work? (This was probably the question all of you had in mind when you read this. Just a guess.)

Happy Eating Honey!

Presidents' Day

Happy Presidents' Day!

I totally forgot it was Presidents' Day! Strange, since I don't have school because of it. Anyway, have a nice holiday. Comment below on what you did today. I'm still home sick! Ugh.

Fun Fact: Presidents' Day was created as part of the 1971's Uniform Monday Holiday Act to give workers more three day weekends.

Breakfast

Hello readers!

Today for breakfast I had pancakes! And eggs and bacon! I don't love bacon as much as Bacon Girl, but it is still one of my favorite foods, right up there with pancakes. If this post was a little weird to you, don't judge me. I'm very bored right now.

I Wonder: Who made bacon?

Miserable

Hi again!

I am miserable! The nose is stuffy, my throat hurts, and I'm coughing very seriously. The only good side is that I don't have a fever (yay). Honestly, I don't think that a fever will make much difference in the condition I'm currently in. I had to stay home from church today. I literally did not go out today. I stayed in my pajamas the entire day. That's how boring it is for me. But I watched lots of TV. I'm hoping to be fine by Monday or Tuesday (preferably by Monday). Ok, that's all for this post.

I Wonder: When will I be healed?!

See ya!

Cough

What's up?

For me, I'm sick (as you can probably tell from the title). I've got this sore throat and I'm coughing. When it gets really bad, I wheeze a little. *Cough* Basically, this entire day, I stayed home and watched TV. Except for dinner, where I went to Red Lobster (yum). My cough started maybe last night or this morning. Either way, pray for me please!

I Wonder: How did I even get this cough?

Candy+Four Day Weekend

Sup guys!

I'm kind of on a sugar high right now because of all the donuts and candy from Valentine's Day at my school!!! It was so much fun. I love candy, but sometimes I can't eat certain types because of my peanut allergy (I'm fairly certain that I've told you about my allergy before). That makes me sad, but I'm used to it now (kind of a sad statement in my life, but whatever). So, I'm just really bored right now. Oh yeah, and I have a four day weekend! So happy. No school on Monday due to Presidents' Day, and no school on Tuesday for some teacher/staff meeting. I don't really care, as long as there's no school!!!

I Wonder: What am I going to do on Monday and Tuesday now?

Piano+Stress

Hey guys!

Every Wednesday, I have piano lesson. It's pretty intense. I have this test coming up in March where I have to memorize and play 4 songs and take a theory (kind of like piano homework) test. I'm so stressed! Also, I have math, science, and a history and memory verse tomorrow. And remember that Science Expo paper? I haven't done a thing on it!!!

I Wonder: How will I get everything done in time?!

Spirit Week

Hello again!

This week, my school is having a Spirit Week for middle school. So, here are the dates:

Monday: Favorite character (dress up as favorite character from movie, TV show, book, etc)
Tuesday: Sports Day (sports jersey, T-shirt with team, etc)
Wednesday: Backwards Day (wear shirt, pants, etc backwards and shoes on the wrong feet!)
Thursday: Tie-Dye Day (wear tie-dye stuff)
Friday: Valentine's Day! (red, white, and pink)

On Monday, I tried to do China Anne McClain, but it kind of failed. I'm also going to do Backwards Day and V-day. I don't have any sports stuff, and my mom threw out all my tie-dye shirts, like, five years ago. But I'm still excited!

I Wonder: What will other people wear on Spirit Week?

I Wonder: What will happen on Valentine's Day this year?

Honor Band Success

Hello!

Sorry I didn't blog last night. Soooo tired!!! I came home around 10:30 pm. Practiced all day! It was in Vacaville. So, from where I live, about 2 and a half hours away. Here's what the schedule was: So I met the others at school. Got driven in a pretty packed car. Got there in a really, really long time. For the morning practice session, it was three hours, with 2 breaks, one 10 min, the other 5 min. Then my school group had lunch at In-and-Out (yummy!) Then another 3 hours with 2 breaks, each 10 min. Afterwards, I went to Hometown Buffet. Then had the concert. Awesome songs!

I Wonder: Will I get to go to Honor Band next year?

Honor Band

Happy February!

Tomorrow, on Friday, my band is going to be in the Honor Band thing. I play flute. Can't wait. Actually I can wait because the songs are hard. But some of my friends are going, so it's okay. I'll tell you where it is after it happens, just because of security reasons. I'm very cautious that way.

I Wonder: What will Honor Band be like? (I've never been there.)

Wish me luck!

Book Review

Hey guys!

Today I have a couple books to share with you. The first one is called Ask Amy Green: Boy Trouble. It takes place in Ireland, so Amy Green is an Irish girl (keep that in mind if you read the book). She has mixed feelings about different boys, and her crazy 17-year-old aunt Clover helps her get through it. Her parents are divorced, and they both have another husband or wife. The title is pretty self-explanatory.
The next book is the sequel. It's called Summer Secrets. Amy, Clover, Amy's mom, Amy's stepbrother and stepsister, and Amy's sort-of-stepdad (read the book and you'll find out) all go to this private mini island to see Amy's sort-of-stepdad's sister and her family. Love these books. Be sure to check them out!

Fun Fact: The author of these books is Sarah Webb. Also, here's the Ask Amy Green website: http://www.askamygreen.com/.

Happy Reading!

PS: There are 4 other books in this series! They're called Bridesmaid Blitz, Love and Other Drama-Ramas, Dancing Daze, and Wedding Bells. I haven't even read them all! They sound interesting. For more info, click the website I put above.

Taiwan

Hey readers!

So my mom just got back from Taiwan. She's been there for the past two weeks. And she brought me back a ton of stuff!!! I'm so happy she came back, and also very happy about all the stuff. Taiwan has little shops everywhere that are adorable! My favorite shop is called J-Mart. It's within walking distance from my grandparents place. I love stuff there! They have nail polish, make-up, lots of hair accessories, cute stationary, and much more. Whenever I go to Taiwan, I always visit J-Mart. It is the best!

I Wonder: What other cute shops does Taiwan have?

Super Bowl

Hello!

So I didn't watch the Super Bowl. (Gasp!) My family isn't that into sports. But I did check online to see who won, and the Seahawks won! Booooo Seahawks! (Sorry Seahawk fans.) I rooted for Broncos because the Seahawks beat the 49ers, which are my favorite team. I saw the score, and to be honest, the Broncos were slaughtered. So sad! Anyway, can't wait for next year! Go 49ers!

I Wonder: Who's going to be in the next Super Bowl?

Spelling Bee

Hi!

Today at my school, every teacher held a classroom spelling bee to see who would get to go the spelling bee in Richmond (I think). I was so close! Two people get to go, and I was the third one. It was between me and this guy and he won. But whatever because I've already been to spelling bees before. Twice. So I'm good.

Fun Fact: There's this movie called Akeelah and the Bee. It's about a girl who's really good at spelling. She goes to a bunch of different spelling bees. Watch it. It's on Netflix.

Art Contest

Hello readers!

Today at Chinese school (ugh) there was an art contest. The subject was "On Campus." Basically, the subject is school. I drew a class in session, but I didn't have enough time to color. I doubt I won. But whatever. I won 2nd place once. That time, the subject was "Halloween." I drew a bunch of kids in costumes trick-or-treating. It was actually one of my best drawings. I lost it now. Sad.

I Wonder: Did I win the art contest this year?

Chinese Homework! + Today's Activities

Sup guys!

OMG! I really should not have waited till the last minute to do my Chinese homework! It's around 10:30pm right now, and I haven't done a thing! So today I was busy with my piano recital. I really didn't want to do it, but I had already signed up. So I did it. Afterwards, I had to go to a Chinese New Year party. It lasted a while. I got back around 9:45pm. And right now, I have, like, 8 pages to do! Fortunately, they're all pretty easy.

I Wonder: Who made up Chinese New Year?

See ya tomorrow! (Maybe)
